Visiting magical Venice has always been a dream of many. The city of bridges, love and unique in its own way charm. Strolling through its winding streets, watching gondolas passing by and eatng the best gelatos at Piazza San Marco. It all sounds so perfect, right? Definitely not without a matter is also a place where we would stay. What view will you have after waking up? What will be served for breakfast? Will it be a well cared of hotel or rather a simple room located on the top of the tenement house? It all definitely matters and has a massive impact on the whole experience, doesn’t it? I believe when we’re about to visit Venice, a place so special and uncomparable to any other, we must do it right. We need to celebrate! Choose the most beautiful hotel, preferably with a touch of history, venetian style interiors and luxury rooms. The highest standard service whom whill make your experience unforgettable, the best chefs who will make sure that your italian feast will be a simple explosion of flavours and the views which will make you come back to this place with your memories for many years.
Luckily, I’ve found this place and had a pleasure to stay there. San Clemente Kempinski Palace made me absolutely fall in love with Venice.
A funny thing is, the name clearly explains what to place is like – a palace. The whole construction was firstly made back in 1131 (wow!) and the building had many fuctions over the centuries like church, monastery or military garrison which is actually really intresting when you realise that you’re staying in a place with such rich history!
The most important thing you should know about the San Clemente Palace Kempinski is that is located on a private island. Straight aways gives you a feeling of a luxury and mystery all in one. The island is located about 15 min via boat from the city centre of Venice. Hotel offers a shuttle boat and I must admit that even when we had to travel back and forth few times a day, these boat trips were always so amazing! Cruising through the Venetian See, feeling wind in my hair, sun touching my skin and being able to admire Venice from that particular perspective, ahh!
The resort has 190 guestrooms and suites, three restaurants, three bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, and a golf pitching course. We were staying in Venetian Suite and it was absolutely stunning! So much space, beautiful bedroom, living room with a working space, bathroom with both – shower and bath tub aaaand – a seperate wardrobe! I loved it! 🙂 The design of the room (like also the rest of the hotel) is very elegant, luxury but simple and a little bit makes you feel like you’re traveling back in time. 🙂
We spent in San Clemente Palace Kempinski 4 days and of course, as we had a tight schedule to explore as much of Venice as we could, we also wanted to enjoy the hotel as much as possible.
Everyday begun with hearty breakfast with a huge selection of both italian and international specials. Selection of freshly squeezed juices, healthy shots, bakery, hot dishes, salads, cheeses, desserts, fruits and whatever else you might wish for! Oh they’ve been also serving prosecco if you would like to start your celebrations from an early morning :). If you lucky to catch good weather you can even have breakfast in the garden :).
San Clemente Palace Kempinski is perfectly prepared for italian summer. Their beautiful pool will be your oasis when the temperature rich their heights. Great place to relax in a peaceful ambience.
As I’ve mentioned before San Clemente Palace Kempinski features 3 restaurats: Insieme – where we had our breakfast and L’Acquerello and La Dolce where we dined. L’Acquerello features modern italian cuisine. Sophisticated dishes surprise with both – they appearance and flavour. A part of the restaurant is a beautiful terrace – best place for a sunset cocktail! 🙂
The other restaurant is La Dolce, located in te gardens, nearby the pool area. Personally this was my favourite! Its menu focuses more on typical italian cuisine. Everything was so delicious! And again we had a nice warm evening so we could have the dinner outdoors. 🙂
The hotel clearly wouldn’t leave on us such great impression without the amazing staff taking best care of us! Everyone was so warm, kind and willing to help!
Summing up, if you’re planning to spend in Venice some special time, take your second half for a romantic getaway or just simply give yourself some pamper time – you know where to go. Myself, I can’t wait to be back.
