I had a pleasure to spend the summer (actually a bit longer summer as it was 4 months!) in Lisbon and as it’s probably easy to realise – I totally fell in love with this city!
There’s a lot I would love to talk about, but today let’s focus on – in my opinion – the best insta worthy spots in Lisbon! You know, just when you’re coming for the weekend and need an inspo for some cool shots? 😉 Yep, this is going to be a (short) list for you – just to make sure you can check them all and still have some time left to enjoy the city not only from the camera perspective!
- Miradouro de Santa Luzia
My absolutely favourite view point in Lisbon! Full of stunning bougenvillas, cute little corners and oh – have you spotted this pretty red door? 😍 You might also be lucky to check out some drawings of local painters (and obviously buy them) and listen to some romantic portuguese (or brazilian!) songs! PS. Be prepared that many other tourists may have the same idea like you, so during weekends or afternoons – you probably won’t be there alone!
- Alfama
Alfama is the oldest area of Lisbon and for many – also the most charming! Full of small, winding streets, colorful houses, fado restaurants and what mostly caught my attention – walls covered in stunning azulejos – typical portuguese tiles. As houses in Portugal looks like from 100s years ago (seriously), get ready to struggle with finding a wall which is still in one piece or just settle for one where few tiles already fell out of their place 😉 I’ve ended up choosing these ones!
- Pasteis de Nata!
Okay that’s not a place but come on… They are so photogenic! 😍 And yummy! Even me – healthy freak – couldn’t say no to a few of them! Be careful – they are very addicting! Overdosing might result with few extra kilos! 😉
Typically – caught while stealing one from my boyfriend, sorry not sorry 🤷🏼♀️
- Pink Street
Well, there is not much to explain – the street is painted pink – how cool is that?! Although the place itself is not the prettiest it became one of the most iconic insta-spots in Lisbon! During the day you can grab a lunch here but during the evening the street transforms into a mad party place! 💃
- Yellow trams
The quaint yellow trams rattle and screech through the narrow streets of Lisbon…well they look pretty old too! You can take the 28 tram to have a little tour around the city or go up on Elevador de Gloria if you’re too lazy to walk. 😉
- Ponte 25 de Abril
Welcome to San Francisco! 25 de Abril is almost a copy of the the famous Golden Gate bridge – both are suspension bridges, both are red – and certainly they’re both picture worthy! I took one closer shot and the other one with the bridge in the background from the top of the LX factory.
- Miradouro das Portas do Sol
Another view point and it’s actually located only 2 min away from Miradouro de Santa Luzia but definitely deserves a separate picture! Grab a drink in Portas do Sol and take a moment to admire this beautiful view. 🙂
- Casa do Alentejo
Located in the downtown of Lisbon, you will probably walk by it many times without having any what’s actually hidden inside! Restaurant, exhibition centre, palace? It’s hard to clearly explain what Casa do Alentejo really is, but once you come enter it I guarantee you – you’ll be impressed. For me the main attraction was its courtyard – all in Moorish style. The entrance is for free but if you wish to stay longer maybe double check with someone at the reception 😉
This list could easily be much, much longer! 🙂 I just wanted to make you a little bit more curious about Lisbon, but don’t worry – I will be recommending you more exciting places very soon! 🙂
Stay tuned x
Peace & Love,
Agnieszka
