Starting our trip in November we didn’t have an exact plan which countries we will visit, we kept our minds open and decided to let the travel lead us. So on, firstly we’ve skipped our tickets back home from Bali (as ws loved it so much) and secondly we’ve visited Singapore and Malaysia. Mostly because of visa expiry situation in Bali (which I will explain more detailed later on), but it turned out to be a great decision and an exciting adventure!
We’ve spent in Malaysia 2 weeks before heading back to Europe, mainly in Kuala Lumpur, where we made ourself a base.
I was super excited before visiting this metropolis. Big cities always have so much to offer! Kuala Lumpur is from one hand a developed business centre and from the other presents typical asian tradition and multicultural environment.
I guess you all had this situation when after arriving to the hotel, your excitement about the city wasn’t on the first plan anymore as the hotel was just PERFECT. So it was with Sofitel in KL. I was always very impressed about the brand itself, so ticking off the list my first Sofitel made me super happy! My boyfriend just loves business hotels so he was definitely at the right place too☺
I don’t really know where to start, as usually when you’re visiting a hotel there is something you can complain on, a bed wasn’t comfy enough, there wasn’t soya milk for breakfast or the internet was too slow. I am paying attention on all the details and while visiting more and more hotels, my exceptetions go higher but I need to say… well, this was a totally different case. Honestly every single thing was a surprise for us. We had a beautiful, spacious room with a gorgeous bathroom (and bath – which is very relevant to me!), extremely professional service, internet was great! The whole design and interior of the hotel was classy but at the same time very modern and what’s interesting, every little decoration or instalation had a meaning behind.
The hotel features 3 great restaurants: Nizza, Wan Chun Ting and Kwee Zeen.
Obviously we – well known as food & wine tasters wouldn’t be ourself if we wouldn’t try all of them 😉 So just a quick resumè.
1) Nizza – mediterrenan dishes and style. Personally my favourite! I had a perfectly done prawns and yummy pasta so it was an easy choice for me!
2) Wan Chun Ting – wow! Imagine yourself a 5* chinese fine dining. Yep, that’s exactly what we had to experience. This time Rennan’s fave!
3) Kwee Zeen – huge restaurant with a great buffet where you can grab a daily lunch choosing between all the cuisines from all over the world. Approved!
If you’re about to lose some calories after all those food tastings you can use hotel’s well equipped gym or jump to the outside swimming pool! They also have a great SPA if you wish to relax after your excercise 😉 We had a couple massage and it was soo good!
But well, let’s present you the icing on the cake – Club Millésime. Good advice – if you ever go to the hotel which has a Member’s Club – make yourself a favour and join it, I promiese you won’t regret. What changed in our case? We had a premiere check in ( warm welcome with a glass of champagne was well needed after our long trip). We also had a constant access to Club Millesimè, starting from the breakfast were we could enjoy the meal nearly by ourself (great idea if you don’t like noise and crowds, need to make few calls or want to work on your laptop), going through the afternoon tea (made me miss London even more!) and finishing with late afternoon snacks (I would call it a fine buffet!) with an open bar with a selection of the best wines and spirits.
I swear – throught the 3 days we’ve been there we haven’t even left the hotel, and I absolutely don’t regret it because we had a such a great time and had time to truly appreciate the place!
So, if you are planning a trip to KL – now you’re now where to stay :).
We’ve prepared a short video for you, to take you with and show you this stunning property! Oh I wish my hotel routine was always as good as this one ☺
