We all drem about something, and sleeping in a sea villa was on my list since loong time☺ Come on, who wouldn’t like to watch the sunrise while having a bath (yes you got me right), listening to the sound of the sea and well – sleeping over the water?! I’ve always associated it with Maldives and oh boy – Malaysia surprised me so much!
But let’s start from the beginning. We’ve spent few days in KL and as it’s an interesting place to visit I wouldn’t consider it as one of my favourites. Malaysia was the last stop of our asian trip and we didn’t think twice when a friend told us about Pangkor Laut Resort. Private island?! Sounds like a blast! And it really was so. You might be thinking that when you’re visiting many hotels after a while they don’t impress you anymore. Well, I need to tell you that you’re totally wrong. Every place is a completely different experience! We were super excited going there and having an opportunity to do it together made the whole thing even cooler! ☺
The resort is huge, perfectly organised and super professional! To get there you need to obviously cross the sea. How to do it? The hotel takes care about everything. They pick you up from the main land with their private speed boat and drop you just in front on the hotel’s reception! Perfect, isn’t it :)?
When we first got there, we were truly amazed! Incredible green water, a piece of a sandy beach and long pier leading to the resort. Oh and we’ve also spotted a turtle on our way! 🙂
The resorts is basically all around the island, they have several types of villas situated in different places so you can choose whether you prefer to stay in the garden or over the sea. They also have 2 beautiful swimming pools (infinity!) and 5 great restaurants. There is a shuttle service running around so you don’t need to be worry how to get from one place to another – it might seems that it’s all so close but trust me it’s not! 🙂
Actually I think I should stop here for a bit and give a little bit more of the enphasy for the restos as they weren’t just basic eateries!
1) Feast Village – our daily breakfast place! We literally had selection of everything, a huge buffet and special stations for fresh juices, chinese specials, eggs etc!
2) Royal Bay Beach Club – located by the pool, great if you wanna grab a quick lunch and jump back on your sun bed! International dishes, kids would love it 🙂
2) The Straits – fine dining, I loved the interior of the place and delicious indian cuisine!
3) Uncle Lim’s Kitchen – okay this was insane! Before coming to Asia I didn’t have an idea that chinese cuisine can be served in such luxurious way! As I don’t eat meat I couldn’t try all the specialities but my boyfriend loved it and it’s definitely 10/10 in our opinion! The whole look of the place and the chinese music made you feel like you are really somewhere in China!
4) Fisherman’s Cove – definitely our number 1! This place surely deserve a Michellin Star I would say! Incredible explosion of flavours, ahh! The presence of the dishes, the service, the view on the sea – everything was just perfect! PS. I still remember the taste of my vegetarian lasagne and now is really hard to beat it 😀
All those places made us actually pretty curious about how it all looks like from the back of the house and what is their secret recipe to make all the dishes full of flavours! Lucky us, The Chef Experience was waiting for us! After breakfast we went with one of the chefs for a little tour. He showed us all the local places where they buy fresh fishes, make noodles etc. The whole trip was super interesting and we even came back with the fish we “caught” to grill it later on! Another part of the experience was to take the chef’s place and cook! We had our recipes and all the ingredients prepared and actually we had lot of fun trying to copy famous malaysian dishes! Surprisingly, everything turned out to be delicious and we really enjoyed our self-home made lunch!
If you are a fun a boats, yachts and basically just the idea of cruising through the ocean (like me) you should also treat yourself with a Sunset Cruise. We were on the top of the boat by ourself, and feeling wind in my hair, being in by boyfriend’s arms and watching when sun goes down on the pinky sky was definitely one of our most romantic moments! A waiter looked after us the whole time, topping up our glasses with delicious wine and bringing us some local treats!
So you’ve checked the pools, enjoyed your villa, cooked, ate well, watched the sunrise from the boat and you think nothing better can happen to you… Dream life isn’t it! Oh but this was just the beginning! The cheery on the top is their SPA! It’s also an actual reason why many people is coming there! They say „Spa Village is not just a place, is a philosophy” and I completely agree with that! Did you know that Malaysia is among the countries with the oldest health rituals? The SPA is combining malaysian, chinese, indian, balinese and thai practics and the paradise itself provides all the essential ingredients for treatments 🙂 All together makes it a perfect combination for the complete rejuvenatation! The treatment we had took 4 hours and I swear to you, we never felt so relaxed before🙈 In the beginning we were dressed in a special sarongs what in my opinion was pretty cool!😃 The whole process is an actually ceremony and focuses on physical and mental health. All the steps were precisely followed. Foot massage, several baths (hot and cold), body scrubs, full body massage, facial treatment, aroma therapy, romantic bath in flower petals with a cup of tea and a steem room for the end! Not sure if I remember everything we had very well but I was just in a different state of mind!
I guess we don’t need a sum up here, you can tell I loved the place! I will definitely highly recommend it to everyone and I wish to go back there with my friends and family one day! 🙂
