Mabuhay Philippines!
We are traveling already for a round month so it’s time to give you a little update!
On 7th of November we left our beloved (but cold) London and jumped on the plane to discover an foreign land! After nearly 22h travel (squeezed in extremely small seats of Air China vehicle -,-) crossing continents and oceans we’ve reached our final destination – Manila!
First surprise – city seems to be bigger and more developed than London. At least from the above. The way from the airport led us through poor and maybe even dangerous neighbourhoods. Contrast in a life standard between poor and rich parts of the society was easy visible. That’s never a good sign regarding to economics. Makati, where we were based, had more skycrapers than I’ve seen in any city in Europe and was tightly filled with hotels and business centres.
We’ve never traveled anywhere far together (me and my bf), and all our adventures were rather small trips than luxury holidays. Turned out, we’ve found the best place to celebrate beginning of our new travel lifestyle. City Garden Makati Hotel gave us the best experience we could have dreamed about. Sleeping on the 28th floor, swimming in the rooftop pool and dining under the stars… Could it be more romantic? That’s not something you experience every day, but we badly needed to taste this 5star life together and get some intimacy and relax after our crazy 4 months spent in Switzerland.
So if you are looking for a perfect accomodation in Manila, yes go to Makati, and go to City Garden Hotel. Imagine a mix of a luxury suite, classy interiors and the the friendliest staff possible who makes you feel at home. Sounds good right? And now add to it an extremely delicious (with a huge selection of literally everthing you might have in your minds, begining with healthy salads, through noodles and finishing on pancakes, yumm!) breakfast buffet and explosion of flavours served on the top floor overlooking the city. Well, I am not mentioning even about their stunning facilities like gym and spa, cause it’s obvious that a hotel like this will have them on the highest level. So yeah, if you are choosing Manila as an overstop before heading to another parts of Philippines (as we did), get yourself a nice hotel, I bet you won’t spend much time walking around the city, so you’ll see, it will be worth it.
Below some memories from our stay in City Garden.
Curious to know how our trip is going? Stay tuned as I will share with you all our adventures!
PS. We are daily uploading lots of IG stories so follow us if you wanna see how everything looks like from the backstage! 😉
